It’s not a secret that nowadays everyone is experiencing a lack of time, especially those who work and have family.
As an average person you start your day waking up kids, and getting them ready for school. Then you drop them off and rush to the office to get there on time. And how often do you have to work till late? Finally when you come home from work, you feel exhausted, and on your last legs you cook dinner and help your kids with homework.
This scenario unlikely to give you some time to enjoy something that you really like to do, or do the things that you really need to do, but never find time for.
How often do you wish there were more than 24 hours in a day?
Well, here is a simple trick that can help you have more time.
All you need is wake up early and use your morning hours.
In the morning our body and mind is the most productive, besides, it’s been proved that people who wake up early in the morning are more proactive during the day.
If you have hard times getting up early, you feel sleepy and tired during the day, than, most likely, you need to rearrange your schedule and reconsider your diet. There is no such thing as morning lark or night owl, it is a matter of habit, and you are the one to choose which bird you want to be.
So, if you want to become an early riser, you need make a list of things that can help you succeed in that and the list of things that are your worst enemies.
There is a huge amount of tips on the web that you can use, the only thing you need to know is that you need to stick to the routine and build a habit, nothing happens over the night. But before you know it, you will be waking up at 5 a.m. when all the kids are still asleep and there is no hassle around.
You will be able to enjoy your peaceful mornings and spend them doing the things you have never had time for before. You can enjoy a morning meditation, or jog. You can practice your hobby you gave up when your kids were born. You can even find time to actually clean the house when no one gets in the way, and see how easy and fast it can be. I am sure you will be able to find something for the soul, or simply make your day easier spending morning hours on the routine.
With this simple trick you will be able to do more things in one day than you are used to. You will be more productive in the morning, more proactive during the day, and have more time in the evening to share it with the ones you love.
The only thing you should keep in mind is that it’s all about the routine, and yes, this means no sleeping in on weekend.
Good luck and enjoy your mornings!

I couldn’t disagree more! I have been hearing this wisdom for years and it only works if you are the only one in your family doing it. If the rest of the household is up at 5:00 as well then that time to exercise or take stock is gone and all you have done is make your day of caring for your family longer. Children who will play quietly in their room before you wake up will want your attention as soon as they see you. A spouse who also got up to enjoy the early morning will then want to talk, not always a bad thing but also not solitude for you.
The other issue is your own work schedule. Sometimes my day doesn’t end until 9:00 p.m. If I want to unwind or do anything for myself it happens after that.
I don’t think it’s a question of early or late so much as figuring out where you can get the solitude and recharging time that you need each day.
Let me think with you.
Why would the rest of the family wake up at 5 am?
I would look at the bright side and assume that the whole family can enjoy a refreshing morning ritual.
I totally agree with you that the whole purpose is to find time for solitude and recharging.
If you can’t find it throughout the day, then the early morning could be the answer.
Thanks for enriching the conversation. Different opinions always enrich the message.
Thanks Mohamed, This is exactly what I was trying to say.
Of curse you shouldn’t wake up everybody with you at 5 AM, try to enjoy the peaceful morning hours by yourself
What nonsense! The only way to have extra time in the morning is to take it off the end of the previous day and go to bed early or sleep less. You borrow from Peter to pay Paul – the hours have to come from somewhere else in your day.
Its no more productive to do things at the start of the day than the end and this talk of early risers being more proactive…well, I’d like you to cite a scientific study that proved that before making such a sweeping statement.
My family are more likely to be woken up by me moving around at 5am than they are last thing at night – and once woken up at that time of the morning there is less chance of them getting back to sleep, particularly if its already light.
Personally I like doing things later at night because its peaceful too. And you can still go out in the evening without messing with your sleep pattern if you want to. Theres not much to do at 5am, but plenty of parties still going at 11pm.
Bottom line – I have nothing against getting up at 5am, but theres nothing particularly advantageous about it.
Hi Romney
I am sure that people can learn new things about them if they just TRY. Jumping to a conclusion without a try sometimes can lead us to get the wrong picture.
I suggested in my post a different point of view to a costume that most people do: the keep the time for themselves to the end of the day.
I wanted to give people other perspective that it doesn’t have to be that way.
When you wake up your body is in better condition that it is at the end of a tiring day. you don’t need to be a scientist to know that.
I understand that waking up early is something we don’t like to do, that’s why its so easy to cancel my idea (or to call it “nonsense!”) but I can promise you that if you get yourself to a productive morning routine you’ll find more time to do the things you never had time for.
I know its hard, and I know it would happen in a day, but I made hundreds of people (from my site) to be more productive by waking up early.
Hope you TRY and tell us what you think
Amber
It is also beneficial to review your “time grabbers” periodically and make the necessary adjustments. Most of us take on way too much. We need to learn to say NO! Back to the basics, back to the simpler times of our childhoods.
You’re absolutely right Kimberley. We need to learn to say no WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY.
Waking up earlier is a great way to have more time during the day! The best thing to do is to start your day with a good workout! You will have more energy during the day and you will sleep better.
