Are you finding it challenging to cope with the ever-increasing expenses rate?
What about your paycheck … is it increasing with the same rate?
If your expenses rate keep on increasing faster than your paycheck, where do you think you will end up?
I am afraid to say… BROKE!
It is hard to accept that truth, isn’t it?
When I was planning to quit my job as an engineer to follow my passion for motivational speaking, I knew that I needed to save money. I needed a safety net to secure my financial status when I start my passion-business.
To be able to save money, my expenses must be lower than my paycheck.
Alternatively, I should seek more sources of income.
I tried several money saving tips, but not all of them worked with the effectiveness and speed I was expecting.
Until I stumbled upon the simple living world!
The beauty of simple living is that you adopt a very peaceful and joyful lifestyle and automatically you find that your expenses starts to decrease. In addition, the level of joy increases.
It is magical!
Simple living is all about eliminating the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak!
I had a passion that was the most important thing in the world for me. I wanted to live a dream bigger than life. And simple living came as the rescue that helped me to minimize my expenses below my income level. Accordingly, I was able to save money and pursue my dream.
A great book I have read in my journey was called “Dream, Save, Do” by Betsy and Warren Talbot.
I highly recommend you read it. It will change your mind set about saving… or funding your dreams. It is the story of a couple who dreamed of travelling the world together. They wrote about their journey and how simple living helped them save the necessary money to travel the world.
Whether you want to:
- balance your expenses and avoid going broke
- get out of debt
- save a safety net to back up your job quitting plans and start your own business
- save money to fund a future dream
… All you need to remember is that more expenses won’t make you happier. Simple living will boost your happiness and help you live a more meaningful life.
Simple living is not about deprivation from what life have to offer. It is all about eliminating the clutter so that you can find the time, energy, money and space to focus on what matters most to you.
Now the question is:
Will you keep your expenses rate the way it is and risk going broke?
